Weld County, CO Man Arrested After Alleged Knife Threat During Home Disturbance

Weld County, CO – A 64-year-old man was arrested following a disturbance investigation in Weld County after deputies said he allegedly entered a residence uninvited while armed with a large knife and threatened one of the occupants.

According to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, patrol deputies responded shortly after 5 p.m. Monday to the 500 block of Johnson Street near Evans after receiving a report of a disturbance involving weapons.

Investigators said the suspect, identified as Robert Betzer, allegedly entered the home without permission while carrying a large knife. Deputies said Betzer threatened one victim and shoved her while a second victim was present inside the residence.

Following the investigation, deputies said they developed probable cause to arrest Betzer.

According to the sheriff’s office, Betzer was booked on suspicion of:

  • Menacing
  • First-degree burglary – no force entry – residence

Authorities said no one was injured during the incident.

The allegations against Betzer have been made by law enforcement, and the charges are not evidence of guilt. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details as the investigation continues.
