Springfield, MO — Cloudy skies and light rain showers will impact areas southeast of Springfield today, bringing cooler temperatures. Residents in regions east of Highway 65 should expect sporadic rain throughout the day, with high temperatures reaching the mid-70s.

According to the National Weather Service, rain amounts will be minimal, with projections of 0.01 to 0.10 inches. Areas west of Highway 65 will likely remain dry, but those east of Highway 63 may experience a 20% chance of thunderstorms later this afternoon. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant as isolated thunderstorms could bring brief, intense rain and wind.

The weekend looks more promising, with Saturday and Sunday featuring warmer weather and drier conditions. Saturday’s temperatures will range from 76 to 88 degrees, while Sunday’s highs will be slightly cooler, in the mid-80s. Showers are possible in the eastern parts of the area, but Springfield itself is expected to stay dry.
