Waukegan, Illinois – Waukegan police are investigating an alleged physical altercation involving nightclub security that left a patron injured during a late-night event.
According to a memorandum released by the Waukegan Police Department, the incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Red Iguana Nightclub. The venue was hosting a promoted event that ran between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Police said officers were contacted at approximately 12:30 p.m. Feb. 1 regarding a report that a person had been involved in a physical altercation with security staff while attending the event. Authorities allege the victim sustained visible injuries as a result of the incident.
No arrests or charges have been announced, and investigators have not released details about the nature of the injuries or the number of security personnel involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
