Cleveland, OH – Waterspouts are possible today over Lake Erie, creating hazardous conditions for boaters. The National Weather Service warns of potential waterspouts forming within lake-effect rain showers. The threat is concentrated east of the Lake Erie Islands, with the best chance of activity east of Avon Point, Ohio.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service, waterspouts may form throughout the day. Boaters in the area are encouraged to monitor weather updates and exercise caution. If a waterspout is spotted, mariners should move at a 90-degree angle to avoid crossing its path.

Winds will be gusty on Saturday, with temperatures ranging from 57 to 62 degrees. The weather will clear by Sunday, making for better boating conditions. However, boaters should remain cautious while navigating Lake Erie today due to the waterspout threat.
