Seattle, WA – Temperatures across the Puget Sound region could climb as high as 95°F by Monday, triggering a heat advisory that runs from 10 a.m. Sunday through 10 p.m. Monday. Urban centers like Seattle, Everett, and Olympia are bracing for a spike in heat-related illness risk — especially for vulnerable populations without air conditioning or hydration access.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, highs will range between 85–90°F in much of western Washington, with localized spikes to 95°F in Cascade Valley communities. Overnight lows won’t offer much relief, dipping only to the mid-50s to mid-60s. The advisory affects King, Pierce, Snohomish, Lewis, and Thurston counties, as well as parts of the Hood Canal region.

In addition to heat risks, officials are warning about frigid lake and river temperatures — still in the 40s and 50s — which can cause cold shock even in calm waters. Residents planning water recreation are urged to wear life jackets and dress for water temperatures, not air temps.

Stay indoors during peak heat hours, check on neighbors and pets, and never leave anyone in a parked vehicle. Outdoor workers should reschedule activities or take frequent shaded breaks.

The heat advisory remains in effect until 10 p.m. Monday. Additional advisories could follow if hot weather persists.
