WASHINGTON D.C. – Vornado has issued a voluntary recall of over 300,000 travel steam irons sold between 2008 and 2017, due to fire, burn and shock hazards. The recall affects all dual voltage Steamfast Home and Away Steam Irons Models SF-717, SF-720, and SF727, and Brookstone Steam Bug Travel Steam Iron Model 606335 produced between January 2008 and March 2017 in the US and Canada.

The recall comes after it was discovered that the power cord can become damaged near the cord bushing, causing the cord to overheat and pose a fire and burn hazard. Additionally, cord damage near the bushing can result in exposed copper wires, posing a shock hazard.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled irons immediately and visit the Steamfast or Vornado website to register for the recall and receive a refund of $19.99.

To determine whether your travel iron is recalled, you can check the model number and production date code on the label on the back of the product. Units produced after March 2017 are not affected by the recall.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact the Vornado recall team at 866-827-3362 between Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST in the US and Canada.
