Burlington, VT – Vermont residents are preparing for another night of freezing temperatures as lows plunge to near zero.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Burlington reported today that the bitter cold will continue across the region. While temperatures won’t be as severe as the past two nights, residents will still face single-digit lows. Wind chills are expected to improve gradually into tomorrow morning.
The St. Lawrence Valley may see light snow showers tonight as a weak clipper system moves into the area. According to the NWS, the system could leave a light dusting, but significant snowfall is not anticipated.
Residents are urged to bundle up and limit time outdoors to avoid frostbite risks. Officials recommend checking on neighbors and ensuring proper heating systems in homes.
Vermont has already faced two nights of frigid weather, but improving wind patterns promise a slight reprieve by Thursday. Temperatures are forecasted to climb gradually into the weekend.
