New York, NY – Verizon customers across the U.S. are experiencing widespread service outages Monday, with more than 106,000 reports logged by 8 a.m. on DownDetector. This figure reflects only a fraction of the total users likely affected, as many customers struggled with dropped calls and failed text messages.
According to DownDetector, the outage spiked early in the morning, hitting areas across the country, particularly in California. Verizon has acknowledged the issue and stated that its engineers are working diligently to resolve the problem. Affected iPhone users have reported their phones displaying “SOS” mode, allowing only emergency calls.
While Verizon works to identify the issue, the company recommends customers connect to Wi-Fi for messaging and calls through internet-based services. The company has not given an official estimate for when full service will be restored.
The outage continues to cause disruptions for individuals and businesses relying on Verizon’s network. Verizon urges customers to monitor official channels for further updates.
