Salt Lake City, UT — Wind advisories and a high wind warning are in effect for much of western and central Utah, including eastern valleys, until 10 p.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service expects gusts of 50-60 mph to impact these regions.
Winds will decrease overnight Friday, except in areas downwind of terrain. However, the strong gusts will redevelop by mid-morning Saturday. These conditions pose significant risks for travel, particularly along east-west routes, where strong crosswinds are likely. Boaters should also anticipate choppy waters on reservoirs, and residents may experience patchy blowing dust.
