Charleston, SC – Beachgoers in Charleston and surrounding areas face a moderate risk of rip currents today, with local authorities urging caution. A stationary front remains offshore, and high pressure will dominate through mid-week. Officials are advising residents and tourists to avoid swimming at unguarded beaches, as most lack lifeguards.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Charleston, small craft advisories are in effect for nearby waters, including Charleston Harbor, until Tuesday morning. High pressure is expected to persist, keeping drier conditions in place and temperatures in the low 80s. Beachgoers should stay updated by checking the weather before heading to the coast.

In addition to the rip current risk, boaters are encouraged to remain cautious with the small craft advisory in effect. High pressure may create deceptively calm conditions, but the risk of currents remains.
