Bourbonnais, IL – Residents will have an opportunity Thursday to help shape future development around Career Center Road as the Village of Bourbonnais hosts a public open house focused on land use, transportation and economic growth.
According to the Village of Bourbonnais, the Career Center Road Subarea Plan Open House will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Community Room at the Bourbonnais Municipal Center, 700 Main St. NW.
A presentation is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. Residents will then have opportunities to review information, ask questions and provide feedback about the future of the area.
Officials are seeking public input in three primary areas: land use and transportation, economic development and community character.
The open-house format allows residents to arrive at their convenience during the one-hour event rather than requiring attendance for the entire meeting.
No registration is required, and refreshments will be available, according to the village.
The meeting is part of the Career Center Road Subarea Plan and the village’s broader “Imagine Bourbonnais” community development effort.
Community input could help officials better understand residents’ priorities as planning continues for future development and transportation needs in the Career Center Road area.
Bourbonnais is located in Kankakee County, about 50 miles south of Chicago.
Residents interested in development, traffic, future land uses or the overall character of the community are encouraged to attend and share their ideas directly with village representatives.
Additional information about the planning effort is available through the Village of Bourbonnais.
