Lemont, IL — The Lemont Fire Protection District (LFPD) Board of Trustees has approved a resolution to place a bond referendum on the Nov. 5 election ballot aimed at improving emergency response times. The decision follows recommendations from the “Minutes Matter” community engagement program conducted this spring.
According to LFPD Chief Dan Tasso, the bond would fund the relocation of two fire stations, renovations to existing facilities, and upgrades to essential equipment. This proposal seeks to address the challenges posed by Lemont’s growing population and aging infrastructure, with the goal of reducing emergency response times to meet national standards.
If approved, the bond would cost homeowners in Cook, DuPage, and Will counties an additional $15 to $17 per month. More details are available at LemontFire.com.
