OSWEGO, IL – A colossal 24,000-seat cricket stadium proposal is shaking up Oswego.
Breybourne Stadium’s plans promise an outdoor cricket arena, clubhouse, restaurant, and a hotel. Set on 33.48 acres near Orchard Road and Tuscany Trail, it could rival the United Center, which can hold 23,500, in capacity.
An informational community meeting is scheduled August 24th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oswego Public Library will discuss the exciting venture. The Chakra360, LLC project could reshape Oswego’s entertainment scene.
Drawing comparisons to Chicago’s famed stadiums, the proposed Breybourne Stadium is poised to set a new standard. With its estimated 24,000 capacity, it could stand tall alongside the United Center and Soldier Field, boasting 23,500 and 61,500 capacities, respectively.
Residents eagerly await the potential development’s next steps, with the Planning and Zoning Commission’s meeting on September 7th offering an additional platform for their input.
