Park Forest, IL – Two women were fatally shot Thursday evening in a Park Forest home, while two children were hospitalized for precautionary care.
Park Forest police responded to a gunshot report at approximately 6:08 p.m. on the 300 block of Miami Street. Officers forced entry and found two unresponsive women, aged 30 and 51, with apparent gunshot wounds. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other succumbed to injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
According to authorities, the children were unharmed but taken to hospitals for medical evaluation. Investigators believe the incident was isolated, involving individuals who knew each other.
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit are assisting the investigation. Police are working to determine the circumstances and identity of the suspect.
