Canaan Valley, WV – A powerful winter storm is bringing heavy snow and dangerous conditions to parts of West Virginia. The National Weather Service warns up to 10 inches of snow and 50 mph winds are expected through early Thursday.

According to the NWS, Eastern Preston, Western Tucker, and Eastern Tucker Counties are under a Winter Storm Warning until 4 a.m. Thursday. Hazardous travel is likely, with bridges and overpasses becoming especially slick. Gusty winds may also cause downed tree branches and potential power outages.
