Aurora, IL – The Illinois Street Bridge will temporarily close Saturday morning for the annual Aurora Turkey Trot 5K. The closure runs from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., allowing participants to enjoy a scenic route along the Fox River.
According to the Aurora Police Department, the race begins at 8:30 a.m., with check-in starting at 8:00 a.m. The course starts near River and Vine Streets, crossing Illinois Avenue before looping back toward Indian Trail. Officers will direct traffic and ensure participant safety throughout the event.
Motorists should plan alternative routes to avoid delays caused by the bridge closure. Traffic is expected to return to normal shortly after the event concludes at 11:00 a.m.
Aurora Police urge residents to review the race map and plan travel accordingly. Officials appreciate community cooperation and look forward to another successful event.
