Tinley Park, IL – Water main breaks disrupted service on Tuesday along 66th Avenue and 67th Court due to ongoing construction on 175th Street. The Tinley Park Public Works Department responded swiftly to assess and repair the situation. The breaks occurred after a Cook County contractor’s asphalt roller, using a vibratory feature, caused vibrations that damaged the water main.

The Village has asked Cook County to instruct the contractor to stop using the vibratory roller and switch water service from the old main to a new one as soon as possible. This is intended to reduce the risk of future breaks and minimize disruption to residents.

Residents will continue to receive notifications of planned water service interruptions through door hangers and CodeRED alerts. While this construction-related break was caused by equipment, water main breaks could still happen during the project, slated to continue through the year.
