Tinley Park, IL – A 13-year-old boy was charged with felony disorderly conduct after allegedly making online threats against students at Grissom Middle School on September 14. He was charged on September 26 following an intensive investigation.
According to Tinley Park police, the boy is not a student at Grissom but gained unauthorized access to a Grissom student’s social media account. Using the stolen identity, he allegedly made threats to appear as if they were from the student whose account he used. Police cooperated with Kirby School District 140 to identify the boy.
The boy faces felony disorderly conduct charges for creating panic among Grissom students. Local authorities took the situation seriously and acted swiftly once the threats were discovered.
Tinley Park police continue to investigate, though no further information is available at this time. The police department has urged families to monitor online activities to prevent similar incidents in the future.
