Wolcottville, IN – A welfare check at a home in Wolcottville led to the heartbreaking discovery of a mother and her three children found dead. On Sunday, officers from the Wolcottville Police Department discovered the bodies of Rebecca Hughes, 32, and her children Evalynn Newell, 8, Allison Newell, 6, and Amelia Newell, 5, at a residence on South Main Street.
Police were responding to concerns raised by relatives when they made the tragic discovery. The Indiana State Police were called in to assist with the investigation.
