Fort Worth, Texas – Thunderstorms are expected to intensify west of the Metroplex Tuesday afternoon, bringing the threat of large hail and damaging winds to parts of North Texas, including DFW, Waco, Bowie, Brekenridge, Paris and Palestine.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, storms will initiate along and ahead of a dryline moving through the western counties. Activity is expected to begin west of Breckenridge before spreading east into the Dallas-Fort Worth area and surrounding cities by late afternoon. Some storms could become severe, especially between 3 and 8 p.m.

Residents in cities like Waco, Bowie, Dallas-Fort Worth area, and Palestine should monitor local alerts and be prepared for rapidly changing weather. Strong wind gusts and hail may affect driving conditions along I-20 and US-281. Officials recommend securing outdoor items and avoiding unnecessary travel during peak storm hours.
