Texas Man Arrested After Arkansas Troopers Seize Cocaine on Interstate 30

Hope, AR – Arkansas State Police (ASP) seized over eight pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 30 in Hempstead County. The stop occurred around 7:42 a.m. on Tuesday, when officers pulled over a 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer at the 28-mile marker.

Troopers reportedly discovered three bricks of cocaine hidden inside a baby wipes box during the search. The driver, 32-year-old Chris Alvarado of Dallas, Texas, was arrested and charged with felony trafficking of a controlled substance.

According to ASP, Alvarado was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Center, where he is being held pending further legal action. The seized cocaine weighed over eight pounds, a significant amount for this type of bust.
