Shreveport, LA – Flood warnings remain in effect for portions of northeast Texas as rising waters are expected to cause minor flooding along White Oak Creek and the Sulphur River near Talco.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, White Oak Creek is forecast to exceed its 16-foot flood stage Friday evening, cresting at 17 feet early Sunday morning. Floodwaters are expected to recede below flood stage by Monday afternoon. Ranchers in Titus, Morris, and Franklin counties are advised to move livestock and equipment to higher ground.
The Sulphur River is already above its 20-foot flood stage, reaching 24.2 feet Friday morning. Forecasters expect it to crest at 25 feet by Saturday morning, affecting Red River, Morris, Franklin, and Titus counties. Some secondary roadways could be impacted, and residents should prepare for extended high water conditions.
