Corpus Christi, TX – Residents along the Texas coast are urged to stay cautious today as a Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect through 7 a.m. Saturday. Coastal flooding up to 1.5 feet is expected, particularly during high tide, impacting areas in Aransas, Kleberg, Nueces, and Calhoun counties. Dangerous rip currents pose additional risks, especially for beachgoers.

According to the National Weather Service, the highest impact will occur in low-lying areas and along popular roadways near the coast. Residents are advised to avoid driving through flooded streets, as water levels may make certain roads impassable. Visitors heading to beaches should exercise extreme caution, as strong rip currents are anticipated throughout the weekend.

Today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with highs around 85°F, but the risk of coastal flooding and rip currents continues despite clear weather. Winds will remain moderate, with an eastward flow at 6-11 mph.

By Saturday, the region is expected to see a high of 86°F with clear skies, but flood conditions may still affect roads and parks. Residents and travelers are advised to monitor local alerts and avoid beach activities if rip currents remain strong.

The weather will stabilize by Sunday, offering a sunny day with highs near 87°F, ideal for outdoor plans. However, beachgoers should continue to heed safety warnings through the weekend.
