Nashville, TN – A woman was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment after an alleged altercation involving her daughter on a school bus. The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon on a bus carrying McGavock High School students.

According to authorities, students on the bus got into a fight, and one used pepper spray on others. The bus driver pulled over at Lisa Lane and Lebanon Pike, where medics treated a student exposed to the spray.

Angela Sweeney, 36, arrived at the scene, upset that her daughter had been involved. She attempted to board the bus but was stopped by the driver. Witnesses say she allegedly then retrieved a handgun from her car and waved it around, though she did not point it at anyone before driving off.

Responding officers stopped Sweeney nearby on Lebanon Pike. She was taken into custody without incident, and the handgun was recovered. No one beyond the pepper spray exposure was injured in the altercation.

Sweeney now faces charges of reckless endangerment, and the investigation remains ongoing.
