Suspended Human Skull Found in Will County Woods Monday Night

Bolingbrook, IL – Will County Coroner Laurie H. Summers’ office has taken possession of a “suspected human skull” discovered in a wooded area near 475 Trout Farm Road in Bolingbrook. The remains were found by local citizens who quickly alerted authorities on Monday night, October 21, at approximately 6:34 p.m. Bolingbrook Police responded and contacted the Will County Coroner’s Office for further investigation.

Will County Deputy Coroners arrived on the scene to take possession of the possible remains, which will undergo forensic testing. The testing will be conducted by the University of Illinois Department of Anthropology and Forensic Odontology to help determine the identity and gender of the remains.

The Bolingbrook Police Department continues to investigate, with no current connection to any open cases. Police Chief Mike Rompa urges the public to avoid the area while investigators work.
