Raleigh, NC – North Carolinians are in for unseasonably warm weather this week, as temperatures are expected to rise into the mid-to-upper 70s today and into Friday. Central NC, including Raleigh, will see sunny skies and a high near 76°F on Thursday, followed by a clear and comfortable evening with temperatures dipping to 46°F. Residents are urged to stay hydrated and avoid leaving children or pets in vehicles as these highs persist.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will bring continued warm conditions, with highs reaching 75°F under mostly sunny skies. Calm winds will make for an ideal day to enjoy outdoor activities, but those spending extended periods outside should ensure they drink plenty of fluids to avoid heat exhaustion.
Drivers along key roadways like I-40 and I-440 should prepare for bright, clear skies but may encounter some heavy traffic as people take advantage of the pleasant weather. The high temperatures will continue into the weekend, with Saturday reaching a notable 82°F. There is a slight chance of evening showers, but otherwise, the weekend will remain mostly dry.
Looking ahead, Sunday will bring some relief with a drop in temperature, expected to hover around 66°F. As we move into next week, sunny conditions will prevail with highs in the upper 60s, making it an excellent time for outdoor projects or recreation.
Residents should also be mindful of the coming chilly nights, with lows dropping into the mid-40s Sunday night.
