Columbia, SC – The Midlands region is set for another day of abundant sunshine with temperatures soaring into the upper 80s to near 90 degrees on Sunday. The National Weather Service in Columbia reports that dry weather will persist throughout the day, offering residents a continuation of summer-like conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s high temperatures are expected to peak at around 89 degrees in Columbia, with similarly warm conditions in nearby areas such as Orangeburg and Augusta. The clear skies will provide ample sunshine, with sunrise occurring at 6:53 a.m. and sunset at 7:53 p.m. Wind gusts are anticipated to reach up to 12 mph, adding a slight breeze to the otherwise warm day.

The forecast suggests that the heat will continue into the week, with highs reaching the lower 90s by Tuesday. While the recent weather has given a taste of fall, summer-like temperatures are making a comeback, prolonging the warm season in the region.

As the days grow shorter, residents should prepare for the eventual return of cooler weather in the coming months. For now, though, Columbia and the surrounding areas remain firmly in summer’s grip.
