Las Vegas, NV – A wind advisory has been issued for the Eastern Sierra Slopes, where gusts of up to 70 mph are expected from Friday morning through early Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the advisory will take effect at 10 a.m. Friday and remain in place until 4 a.m. Saturday. Forecasters predict southwest winds of 30 to 40 mph, with powerful gusts creating hazardous conditions for residents and travelers in the region, including Whitney Portal and Aspendell.

The NWS warns that the strong winds could topple tree limbs and unsecured objects, potentially causing minor property damage and power outages. Motorists, particularly those driving high-profile vehicles, are advised to use caution as driving conditions may become challenging.

Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items and remain vigilant as the weather system passes through the area. For updates, visit the National Weather Service’s website at weather.gov/lasvegas.
