Streator, IL – An early morning shooting disrupted the peace in Streator on Sunday, with gunfire reported around 7:57 a.m. in the 300 block of North Everett Street. Police conducted an initial search but found no immediate evidence at the scene.

Later, a Main Street business owner discovered a spent round on the sidewalk and notified police. The business owner also provided surveillance footage in which gunfire could be heard.

Hours after the initial reports, a victim arrived at the police station, stating their vehicle had been damaged by gunfire. The victim did not bring the vehicle, so police could not inspect the damage directly.

Based on this report, officers returned to an area off Main Street and found five .45-caliber shell casings. Police collected the casings as evidence and are continuing their investigation.

No injuries have been reported. Authorities plan to interview additional business owners and review exterior surveillance footage.
