St. Louis County, MO – Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 43-year-old man Saturday evening in north St. Louis County, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers assigned to the North County Precinct responded at approximately 7:50 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, to a reported sick case in the 2100 block of Empire Court. When officers arrived, they found Darren Henderson, 43, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Henderson was transported to an area hospital for emergency treatment but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Police said the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons has assumed the investigation and classified the case as a homicide.
According to preliminary investigators, Henderson was allegedly shot by the suspect following an argument. Authorities said a suspect is in custody, but no additional information about the suspect or potential charges has been released.
The investigation remains active, and detectives said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
