Indianapolis, IN – Motorists traveling on the west side of Indianapolis should prepare for a temporary access closure at U.S. 36 (Rockville Road) as construction continues on the Modern Rockville Road added travel lanes project.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), access to Country Club Road at U.S. 36 is scheduled to close beginning on or after Monday, July 13, to allow crews to complete pavement improvements as part of the ongoing roadway project.

The closure affects the intersection of Country Club Road south of U.S. 36 (Rockville Road) and is expected to remain in place through mid-August, weather permitting.

INDOT said the work is part of the larger Modern Rockville Road project, which is adding travel lanes and making other improvements along the busy corridor on Indianapolis’ west side.

Drivers who regularly use Country Club Road to access U.S. 36 should plan ahead and allow extra travel time while the closure is in effect. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour routes and watch for construction crews and changing traffic patterns in the area.

Construction schedules remain subject to change depending on weather and field conditions.

The project is one of several ongoing transportation improvements aimed at increasing capacity and improving traffic flow along the U.S. 36 corridor through Marion County.
