Bourbonnais, IL – St. George Road, located near 5000 N Road in Bourbonnais, is officially open to traffic again.
The road had been closed since Monday to allow for the reconstruction of the gated crossing by the Canadian National Railroad. According to the Village of Bourbonnais, the project, which spanned from U.S. Route 45 (N. Convent Street) to Illinois Route 50 (N. Kinzie Avenue), was completed on schedule.
The closure disrupted local traffic for nearly a week, forcing drivers to find alternate routes. Officials announced Monday morning that the road was ready for use, thanking residents for their patience during the repairs.
