A Bridgeville man is facing felony charges after allegedly threatening to shoot school staff on Friday at the Sussex Consortium in Lewes. The incident occurred on September 13, when 20-year-old Michael Jones, a special education student, reportedly caused significant disruption.

According to Delaware State Police, troopers were called at 12:28 p.m. after reports that Jones had damaged school property and made violent threats. Jones allegedly caused $1,500 in damages before making threatening remarks about shooting the staff. The school immediately initiated a lockdown.

Troopers arrested Jones without incident, and no firearms were found. No injuries were reported during the incident. Jones was charged with felony terroristic threatening, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.

Jones was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on his own recognizance. The school resumed normal operations once the situation was resolved.

This incident remains under investigation, but authorities emphasize that no immediate danger remains for the students or staff.
