Norfolk, VA – The National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for southeastern Virginia, effective Thursday morning and afternoon, as Tropical Storm Debby continues to move through the region. The watch, in effect from 2:45 AM to 1:00 PM EDT, includes portions of eastern North Carolina and nearby coastal waters.

According to the NWS, a few tornadoes are possible as the storm’s influence expands northward and westward. Residents in the affected areas are urged to stay vigilant, monitor weather updates, and be prepared to take immediate action if a tornado warning is issued.

This Tornado Watch replaces the previous watch (Number 612) and will remain in effect until 1:00 PM EDT.
