Boston, Mass. – Showers are expected to move into Cape Cod and the Islands by sunrise Wednesday as a blanket of clouds spreads across southeastern Massachusetts overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, temperatures tonight will range from the upper 40s to low 60s, with drizzle or light showers developing around the Cape and Islands by early morning. The offshore system will keep skies overcast and conditions cooler through Wednesday, with highs only reaching the low to mid 60s across much of southeastern New England.
Scattered showers and drizzle may extend inland, impacting portions of Plymouth, Bristol, and Barnstable counties during the day. Commuters along Route 6 and I-195 should allow extra travel time due to reduced visibility and slick roads. Although rainfall totals will remain light, drivers are urged to exercise caution during the morning and evening commute.
By Thursday, sunny skies and warmer temperatures return, with highs climbing into the mid to upper 70s, especially inland. This brief warm-up will offer a dry window before another potential coastal system approaches by the weekend.
Stay tuned for midweek updates as the system progresses. Additional advisories could be issued for marine and coastal areas if conditions shift.
