Little Rock, Ark. – Residents across southeast and southwest Arkansas could face flooding through Wednesday morning as heavy rain returns, threatening low-lying areas, roads, and streams from Monticello to Camden.
According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, a Flood Watch remains in effect from 7 a.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. Wednesday for ten counties, including Desha, Cleveland, and Ouachita. Rainfall totals between one and two inches are expected, with some areas seeing even higher amounts during intense downpours.
Localized flooding may impact drainage systems, small creeks, and urban streets—especially where debris clogs storm drains. Areas like Arkadelphia, Warren, and Star City are at increased risk due to already elevated stream levels. Emergency managers urge drivers to avoid flooded roadways and remain alert for sudden water level rises.
This system may deliver rainfall rapidly, making flash flooding possible in spots where thunderstorms stall. Residents should charge devices, avoid travel on low-lying roads, and prepare to act quickly if a Flood Warning is issued.
The Flood Watch remains active through Wednesday morning, and additional advisories may follow as conditions develop.
