Sioux Falls, SD – Residents should prepare for a hot and humid weekend, as temperatures are expected to remain high through early next week. Today’s forecast shows temperatures peaking at 92°F with continued smoky skies from wildfire activity. However, visibility will improve by late tonight.

According to the US National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, fog this morning has reduced visibility, but hot and humid conditions are anticipated through the early part of next week. Breezy winds will prevail, with scattered showers and storm chances returning over the weekend. Some storms may be strong to severe.

Saturday’s high will be around 90°F with potential afternoon and evening thunderstorms, especially in the western part of the state. Sunday will see highs of 88°F with scattered storms and breezy conditions.

Monday is expected to be warm and humid, with temperatures ranging from 84°F to 92°F. Dry weather is forecasted for Monday, providing a slight reprieve from the weekend’s stormy conditions.

The upper-level winds will shift, dispersing some of the wildfire smoke, and bringing clearer skies by Friday evening. This change will contribute to increased sunshine over the weekend, pushing afternoon highs into the mid-80s to mid-90s.
