Phoenix, AZ — South Central Arizona is set to experience another day of scorching temperatures, with highs forecasted to reach up to 107°F across the lower deserts. The National Weather Service in Phoenix has indicated that while these temperatures are near normal for this time of year, the heat will be intense, particularly in areas such as Parker, Blythe, and Yuma, which are expected to hit 106°F or higher.
According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorm activity is anticipated, especially across the higher terrain areas of eastern Arizona. The main threat from these storms includes gusty winds exceeding 35 MPH and localized heavy downpours. However, storm activity across the lower deserts will likely be more isolated and weaker as it attempts to move into the lower elevations.
The extended forecast shows little relief from the heat, with temperatures remaining in the triple digits throughout the week. Phoenix will see highs of 101°F today, gradually climbing to 108°F by Saturday. Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat, including staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
