Spartanburg, SC – A warming trend will bring relief to South Carolina after a cold start, but patchy black ice remains a concern early Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will dip below freezing overnight, potentially leading to black ice on roadways, including I-85 and I-26. Drivers should use caution Thursday morning as icy conditions may persist until late morning. The weather will clear by the afternoon, with sunshine and a high of 35°F.
Friday will bring sunny skies with a high of 46°F, and temperatures will continue to climb over the weekend. Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the low 50s, while Sunday will see a jump to 56°F with clear skies. By Monday, highs will reach the 60s, signaling the start of a milder stretch.
While no major precipitation is forecast, patchy fog and frost are possible in the mornings. Residents should check for updated forecasts and drive carefully in the early hours. Warmer days ahead should help ease any lingering winter conditions.
