Caribou, ME – A break from the arctic cold arrives this weekend, bringing sunshine and milder temperatures before snow chances return early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 24°F, though wind chills could make it feel as low as -1°F. Winds from the northwest may gust up to 26 mph, adding to the chill. By Saturday, sunny skies continue with a high near 25°F, followed by increasing clouds Sunday and a slightly warmer high of 29°F.
Overnight temperatures will remain frigid, dipping into the single digits. Residents should take precautions to prevent pipes from freezing and dress in layers when heading outdoors.
Looking ahead, snow showers may return Monday afternoon, with a 20% chance of precipitation and a high near 31°F. By Tuesday, the chance of snow increases to 50%, with a high of 36°F. While no major winter storms are expected, changing conditions could impact travel early next week.
