Spartanburg, SC – A wet and stormy weekend is ahead for South Carolina, with heavy rain and possible thunderstorms on Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin Saturday morning and continue through Sunday, with some areas seeing over an inch of rainfall. Thunderstorms could develop Sunday afternoon, bringing gusty winds up to 37 mph.
Sunday night will be clear but breezy, with a drop in temperatures to around 29°F. Washington’s Birthday will be sunny with a high of 52°F, providing a much-needed break from the storms.
The upcoming week will see more unsettled weather, with showers possible on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will hover in the 40s during the day but drop to the teens by Thursday night.
