Memphis, TN – Shelby County Sheriff’s Office detectives, in collaboration with the Desoto County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a joint operation Tuesday, allegedly uncovering an illegal chop shop on Melodywood Drive. During the raid, investigators arrested Homer Davis, 21, and allegedly seized a stripped Dodge Challenger, reported stolen in October from Memphis. Authorities found the vehicle dismantled for parts alongside various automotive tools and other suspected stolen items.
Investigators believe the chop shop was allegedly involved in dismantling stolen vehicles, with recovered property valued between $10,000 and $60,000. Davis now faces charges, including Violation of Chop Shop and Theft of Property.
In a related arrest, Desoto County deputies apprehended Terrion Cobb, 19, linking him to the alleged operation. Cobb faces charges of Aggravated Assault, Eluding Law Enforcement, and Auto Theft.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Desoto County’s Special Investigations Unit consider this an ongoing investigation, with additional arrests anticipated. Authorities urge the public to report any suspicious automotive activities.
