Schleicher County, TX – A severe thunderstorm continues to impact parts of northwestern Schleicher County early Saturday morning, with significant hail and winds. The National Weather Service issued a warning for the area, including the intersection of US-190 and Ranch Road 1828, located 17 miles west of Eldorado.
According to the NWS, the storm, moving northeast at 40 mph, is producing hail up to the size of ping pong balls and wind gusts reaching 60 mph. These conditions pose a significant risk of damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. People and animals outside are at risk of injury due to the strong winds and large hail.
Impacted locations include Ranch Road 1828 and Ranch Road 915, as well as US-190 near the Crockett-Sutton County line. Residents are urged to seek shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor of a building to protect themselves from the storm.
This warning is in effect until 1:45 AM CDT. People in the area should remain alert for any further updates.
