Little Rock, AR – A round of severe weather is expected to impact much of Arkansas through Sunday night, bringing hail, gusty winds, and the threat of strong thunderstorms across the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, a marginal risk for severe storms is in place for far northwest Arkansas, including Fayetteville and Bentonville, starting Saturday evening. The threat will intensify Sunday, as a slight risk expands to cover the southeast half of the state, including Little Rock, Pine Bluff, and El Dorado.

The Saturday timeframe for potential storms is from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, primarily affecting northern areas. On Sunday, the risk shifts and grows, with storms expected during the afternoon and evening hours as a cold front pushes through Arkansas.

The main hazards include damaging wind gusts and large hail, though isolated thunderstorms could also become strong enough to prompt warnings. The weather service advises residents to monitor updates and have multiple ways to receive alerts through the weekend.

Travelers and those with outdoor plans should prepare for sudden weather changes, especially on Sunday. Storms may cause localized disruptions, and drivers should use caution in areas experiencing reduced visibility or water on roads.
