California – Morning light is returning across the Bay Area, but unusually high tides continue to pose concerns along vulnerable shorelines. While inland neighborhoods warm into a pleasant summer afternoon, low-lying coastal areas could experience minor flooding around the highest tides over the next several days.

According to the National Weather Service, a Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 4 a.m. Thursday for portions of the San Francisco Bay shoreline. Inland temperatures are expected to reach 77 degrees today under partly sunny skies before settling into the upper 70s through Tuesday. Minor flooding is possible in the most flood-prone waterfront locations during periods of high tide.

Residents and visitors near the Embarcadero, Marina District, Crissy Field, Mission Creek, and other low-lying shoreline areas should watch for water covering parking lots, walking paths, and a few roadways during peak tides. Drivers should never attempt to cross water-covered streets, even if flooding appears shallow.

Away from the coast, conditions remain pleasant with light southwest winds around 5 to 8 mph this afternoon. Tuesday brings another mostly sunny day with a high near 76 degrees, while Wednesday stays sunny with highs around 75 degrees. A gradual cooling trend follows later in the week as marine air becomes more established.

The broader national weather pattern continues to feature dangerous heat across portions of the West and severe thunderstorms over the Plains and Midwest. The Bay Area remains largely quiet, with coastal flooding standing out as the primary weather concern.
