Frankfort, IL – A 19-year-old man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after an overnight shooting inside a Frankfort home, and police say the investigation remains active.
According to the Frankfort Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, to the 22900 block of Firenze Drive for a report of shots fired inside a residence.
When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old male who had been shot following what police described as an altercation with a relative. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where officials said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Police said the suspect fled the residence on foot immediately after the shooting. A reverse 911 notification was issued asking nearby residents to shelter in place while officers established a perimeter and conducted an extensive search with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.
Despite the search efforts, the suspect was not located within the established perimeter.
The shelter-in-place request has since been lifted, but authorities say the investigation is ongoing and no additional information has been released.
