Oswego, Ill. — For three dates this summer, Oswego first responders and veterans are hosting free community Run-Walk-Ruck events. The Oswego Police Department, Oswego Fire Protection District and Veterans Assistance Commission of Kendall County will jointly host these events.
The events will take place over three Sundays this summer: June 29, July 27 and August 17. Each event will start at Hudson Crossing Park. Participants of all fitness levels are invited to run, walk or ruck with Oswego first responders and veterans. Those rucking are required to bring their own rucksack.
This free community series was created to raise awareness for Veterans Programs in Kendall County. Those who participate in all three events this summer will receive a participation gift as a thank-you for their support.
The inaugural event begins at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, at Hudson Crossing Park. A short opening ceremony will celebrate the start of the Run-Walk-Ruck events. Participants will then commence on a 4.5-mile route through Violet Patch Park and back to Hudson Crossing Park.
