Rensselaer Man Arrested for Alleged Psilocybin Possession, Faces Felony Charges

Rensselaer, IN – A Rensselaer man was arrested Friday after police allegedly discovered narcotics in his home. Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of N. Weston Street, uncovering a significant amount of controlled substances, including psilocybin mushrooms.

The suspect, 51-year-old Mark Donnelly, was not home during the search. Authorities later located him at his workplace, where they took him into custody. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

According to the Rensselaer Police Department, Donnelly faces felony charges, including neglect of a dependent and maintaining a common nuisance, both level six felonies. He also faces several misdemeanor charges: possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

Officers indicated that additional items found at the scene will undergo testing by the Indiana State Police. Authorities have stated that more charges could follow pending those results.
