Lake Charles, LA – Hot and dry weather will persist across much of Louisiana until Friday, when rain chances are expected to rise. Temperatures will range from the mid-80s to low 90s this week. Light winds and low humidity will contribute to dry conditions.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Lake Charles, rain is forecast to return by Friday with chances of precipitation increasing to 50% over the weekend. The highest likelihood of rainfall will be in the Acadiana region.
Meanwhile, a disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico has lowered its chances of tropical development. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) currently estimates a 40% chance of storm formation over the next seven days. Although no tropical systems are expected, NWS urges residents to monitor forecasts closely as more rain and thunderstorms are anticipated starting Friday.
By the weekend, rain amounts could exceed 0.25 inches, particularly in southwestern Louisiana.
