Quad Cities Region — The National Weather Service Quad Cities says the forecast for the upcoming week carries larger-than-normal uncertainty due to an unsettled weather pattern across the Midwest.
According to forecasters, the region will remain positioned near the boundary between colder and milder air, allowing multiple weather systems to pass through the area. In winter, this type of setup can lead to periods of light snow and windy conditions, though the exact timing and impacts remain uncertain.
The forecast indicates cold and blustery conditions Monday, with temperatures ranging from 5 to 15 degrees and wind chills as low as 15 to 25 below zero. Another round of light snow and windy conditions is possible Monday night, with lows between 2 and 8 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to moderate slightly Tuesday through Thursday, with highs ranging from the upper teens into the low to mid-30s. Several nights during the week could see additional chances for snow, with probabilities generally ranging from 20 to 40 percent, especially Tuesday night and Thursday night.
The National Weather Service emphasizes that small shifts in the path of incoming systems could result in very different outcomes, ranging from multiple bouts of light snow to minimal impacts.
Residents are encouraged to stay tuned for forecast updates, especially as details become clearer closer to each system’s arrival.
